ML Engineer

About the role

We are looking for early members of our research team. As an ML Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and deploying large-scale systems, from data infrastructure to new model architectures, to build Large Audio Models. You will have the opportunity to build infrastructure to manage large-scale datasets, develop tools for data processing and understanding, and innovate the interaction between machine learning and data.

What you’ll do

• Lead engineering projects for data collection and management.
• Build tools and models to visualize, evaluate, and filter datasets.
• Scale machine learning models developed by internal researchers to 7B+ parameters.
• Develop optimization techniques for distributed parallel systems.
• Optimize inference speed for large-scale models.
• Implement models and systems efficiently for data processing, training, inference, and deployment.

What you’ll need

• Proficiency in Python.
• Experience developing machine learning models using JAX, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
• Familiarity with concepts like DDP, FSDP, Tensor Parallel, and experience writing and optimizing highly parallel and distributed PyTorch code.
• Experience implementing fundamental machine learning models from scratch, such as Transformer, VAE, and Denoising Diffusion models.

Nice to Have

• Experience with low-level machine learning optimization, such as writing CUDA kernel code.
• Experience in large-scale data management.
• Experience pretraining 7B+ ML models.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Experience with multi-node distributed training.
