Product Management at BookNook:

The BookNook Product Team drives the evolution of our synchronous online learning platform and virtual tutoring tools, translating ideas into actionable strategies and bringing features to life from start to finish. We are a small, fast-moving team passionate about solving complex problems with simplicity and empowering educators, students, and administrators with tools that make a difference. We thrive on collaboration and value iterative improvement to provide opportunities for every student's journey toward success.

About You:

We are looking for a Product Manager to enhance our platform’s classroom experience, focusing on the tools and interactions that foster engaging and seamless virtual learning environments for K-8 students. You’ll own the vision and execution of features like video tools, whiteboards, curriculum integrations, and in-session collaboration.

In this role, you’ll work hand-in-hand with Design and Engineering to deliver impactful features that solve real user problems and align with business goals. You thrive in ambiguous situations, bringing clarity to challenges and rallying your teammates around shared goals with confidence and leadership. You’re comfortable gathering input from stakeholders, prioritizing trade-offs, and making informed decisions about timelines, scope, and quality. Action-oriented and pragmatic, you balance a clear vision with thoughtful execution, always keeping the user at the center of your decisions.

What you will be doing:
  • Shape BookNook’s classroom experience by integrating user feedback, business strategy, and competitive insights into a roadmap that drives both immediate impact and long-term innovation.
  • Collaborate with educators, administrators, and students to deeply understand their needs and translate these insights into intuitive, engaging product features.
  • Partner closely with Design, Engineering, and other stakeholders to deliver features that are scalable, reliable, and simple for users.
  • Define and measure success metrics for adoption, engagement, and impact; use this data to iterate on and improve the classroom experience.
  • Work cross-functionally with customer-facing teams to align go-to-market strategies and ensure smooth training, rollout, and communication of new features.
  • Proactively balance user needs, technical constraints, and business objectives, and make thoughtful trade-offs to drive execution.
  • Travel up to 10% to meet with stakeholders, shadow end users, or gather user insights.
What we are looking for:
  • Experience as a product manager (or similar role) with a strong track record of delivering impactful products in B2B or B2C environments.
  • A user-centered mindset with a passion for creating intuitive, engaging virtual experiences that solve real problems for users.
  • Experience developing data-driven product roadmaps, confidently prioritizing work by balancing user needs, business goals, and technical feasibility.
  • A natural collaborator and clear communicator who thrives in cross-functional teams and can articulate complex ideas simply to diverse audiences.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to define and drive meaningful goals/KPIs and execute effectively to meet them.
  • Comfortable with navigating technical challenges and working with engineering teams to tackle complexities in a scalable, pragmatic way.
Nice to have:
  • Experience building virtual classroom tools or interactive platforms, particularly for K-8 audiences.
  • Familiarity with the K-8 education landscape, including instructional practices, curriculum standards, and educator challenges.
  • A passion for ed-tech, with a commitment to building tools that advance equitable learning outcomes.
