UX/UI Design Interns help bring engaging designs to our customers by working with other designers and front-end developers. As a UX/UI Design Intern, you have a foundational understanding of UX and UI design principles and patterns, and can design mockups for web interfaces. You will work in a collaborative team to research and iterate on designs. The candidate for this position is committed to quality, is passionate about problem solving with creative solutions, has a flexible attitude, and demonstrates strong communication skills.

The UX/UI Design Intern will work across both the Peter Millar and G/FORE brands, including our international sites (Peter Millar US & UK, G/FORE US & UK).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist in designing user interfaces for web and mobile applications, ensuring an aesthetically pleasing and user-friendly experience.
  • Support the UX design process by conducting user research, gathering feedback, and contributing to wireframing, prototyping, and user testing.
  • Collaborate with the design and development teams to ensure designs are feasible and aligned with technical requirements.
  • Contribute to design documentation, including user flows, wireframes, and style guides.
  • Help create and maintain UI components, ensuring consistency and adherence to brand guidelines across digital platforms.
  • Participate in brainstorming and creative sessions, providing innovative ideas for improving user experiences.
  • Conduct competitive research and analysis to identify best practices and trends in UI/UX design.
  • Assist with user testing and gathering insights to improve product usability.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Ability to design web interfaces that are adaptable and optimized for various devices and screen sizes
  • Experience in creating design deliverables including sketches, wireframes, user flows, comps, and interactive prototypes, using both pen and paper and design applications (Figma)
  • Ability to assess design concepts for technical feasibility and potential UX concerns, offering actionable insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Skilled in articulating design ideas and concepts to team members and stakeholders, with a focus on collaboration and iteration based on feedback.
  • Comfortable working in dynamic environments with shifting priorities, demonstrating agility and focus in meeting deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks independently while contributing to team efforts when required

DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Students pursuing a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
