Overview


We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Data Analyst I to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in data analysis and data modeling, be proficient in SQL and Python, and possess a strong desire to grow their technical skills. As a Data Analyst I, you will play a critical role in supporting our business needs by providing valuable insights through the analysis of usage metrics and business data.


Responsibilities


  • Data Analysis & Modeling:
  • Perform data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that support business decisions.
  • Develop and maintain data models to facilitate robust analysis and reporting.
  • SQL & Python:
  • Utilize SQL for querying databases and extracting relevant data.
  • Use Python for data manipulation, analysis, and automation of repetitive tasks.
  • Business Insights:
  • Assist in the preparation of business reports and presentations that communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into analytical requirements.
  • Metrics & Reporting:
  • Develop and track key usage metrics to measure the performance of various business initiatives.
  • Create dashboards and reports to visualize data and provide actionable insights.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
  • Communicate complex analytical concepts and results clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Work closely with multiple teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment and understanding of business goals and analytical needs.
  • Provide customer-focused solutions by understanding stakeholder requirements and delivering actionable insights that drive business value.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in data analysis and business intelligence.
  • Seek opportunities to enhance technical skills and knowledge through training and development.


Qualifications


Required Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of experience in data analysis, data modeling, and business analysis
  • Experience in SQL for database querying and management, and experience with Python for data analysis and automation
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Business, and or equivalent experience

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Understanding of statistical methods and techniques
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Proven ability to collaborate across multiple teams and stakeholders to achieve common goals
  • Strong interest in user behavior analysis, predictive analysis, and forecasting modeling


Compensation Range


The base salary range for this job is USD $50,000.00 - USD $132,600.00 /Yr.


These pay ranges are intended to cover roles based across the United States. An individual's base pay depends on various factors including geographical location and review of experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant. At GitHub certain roles are eligible for benefits and additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These rewards are allocated based on individual impact in role. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role.
